Crafty Cardmakers Clean and Simple Challenge

Challenge for these next two weeks Clean and Simple

I always think of pastels colours relating to clean and simple, I suppose everybody will have their own interpretations it will be nice to see the entries.

I started with a square off white card, I used dotty paper from a new DM paperstack and layered them with white card inbetween.

I printed the image and coloured it with my favourite promarkers, added a little ribbon, couple of pale pink sparkly flowers which actually look yellow/orange in the picture and some gems to finish off the card.

We so much inspiration in the video but I was still stuck with making up the card, I decided to stick with the basics, matting and layering, stamping the wording, and a few gems and peel off corders to add a bit of silver. The image I used from a digi image from Kenny K, it was hard to choose the image from his site as there were so many which fit the challenge. I coloured the image with promarkers. I coloured the first image I had stamped and realised that I was being like a little old lady and covering the poor girl up, stamped her again and let her show a little more flesh lol, my first image she had a full bodice and cycling shorts (so to speak) LOL. My challenge card for Crafty Cardmakers Birthday

For my card I started with a blank square, layered with background paper I got free with a magazine, I cut a strip from a sheet from the same pack and used a fiskars punch to create the patterned edge, the image as we can all guess is Tilda coloured with promarkers and the bag is glittered. I punched the corners of the paper that I had stamped and put jewels in two of the corners. I got out and dusted!! my quickutz revolution and cut the layers of the flowers in the same papers, put these together with brads and stuck on the card with 3d foam. The sentiment was from a free magazine pack also.

I love making Tilda cards and was really pleased with this card and how well the colours go together (in my opinion anyway !!).

Crafty Cardmakers New Challenge

This week at crafty cardmakers the challenge is a recipe one by Joy.

Here is my creation

I stamped my image onto card and coloured with promarkers adding touches of glitter onto the flowers. I cut the corners of the card with a fiskars punch then mounted the image onto yellow card, then again onto patterned orange paper. I covered the front of a square card with a leaf patterned paper and mounted the layered image onto the card. I coloured some flowers with promarkers and added layered them keeping them together with a brad and cup which was then mounted onto the corner of the card and the jems were added.

Here we go again let's have another go !!!

Crafty Cardmakers spotlight challenge

This week on Crafty Cardmakers was a spotlight challenge on a photo inspiration from which I used the colours and the spotlight was easel cards. I really enjoy making easel cards having just tried it recently and this was my first attempt of making a shaped one. I was quite pleased with the finished card but I would not normally pick out such bold colours as I like making pastel cards.

I am also attempting the first time of entering more than one challenge!! With the help from the DT at crafty cardmakers giving me hints of where I can enter here we go:

Challenge card for friend at work

A friend at work seen me posting out the easel card to Andrew's uncle and admired it, she asked the next day if I could make one for her with either an aeroplane or boat with Happy Birthday and Welcome Home on it for her nephew who, after travelling the world for some time, was coming back home on his birthday. She liked the easel style so that was my challenge for tonight, I put it off last night thinking what picture I could use. Anyway I have made one for her tonight hope she likes it ................

Last minute card for Uncle

I just remembered today I needed two cards, one for Tuesday and one for Wednesday, luckily I had one made for the anniversary on Tuesday but needed a mans card for my OH's uncle who's wife and daughter are both card makers. Was talking to his wife today about easel cards and she had not heard of them so decided to make one for Malcolm for his birthday so she could have a look, hope you like too. The pyramage does look a little off line on this photo but it is because I have taken the picture stood up above the card HONEST !!

New challenge - Inky

Well was not impressed with this card and had I not left it till the last minute I would have started again, anyway I am not a messy inky person, can't stand inky fingers but thought I would have a go, the first stamp pad I tried fell to pieces lol, I them used a momento pad in silver over textured black paper and dabbed round the edge in lilac, the next layer on top of the mirror card was again white textured paper which I went over with the lilac ink pad. The colours are much darker on the photo than in true life, Anita's stamp stamped with the same lilac ink pad. Flowers were mounted on the corner to take away the bareness.

Had to make two cards for my friends at work, who's birthdays are tomorrow and Saturday. Thought I would have a change from the promarker pens and made a couple of pyramage from the Popcorn Bear disc. However my promarkers did not have a rest tonight when I can into the room to find my daughter colouring pictures with them, they were for her to make cards and I did not have the heart to tell her to stop playing with my new toys. Well I have not had much inspiration this week, been full of cold and generally shattered. Needed a card quickly and was just ready to go to the shop (ooohhhh noooo) when my sister turned up and said get your craft things out I have never made a card before. Well out come some of my things and I made the card in just fifteen minutes, my sister still has never made a card because she talked while I made it. Hope you like it.

Challenge 2 Crafty Cardmakers

Challenge 2 was double colours, I chose these colours mainly because I have lots of papers etc which I can use. I really enjoyed this challenge and look forward to the next one.

I started my card with a blank white square card, again I used papers from "Hot off the press" and cut the green background sheet to size and stuck it on with a glue roller, then the pink and layered it on the top. Next I stamped the image onto a white piece of card, coloured it in using Jelly Roll pens and then cut it out. I purposely stuck the image to one side of the card in order to put the green check ribbon down the otherside. I used a rub on sticker onto a brad and placed the brad at the top of the card. The card seemed to need something else which is why I stuck on the little gems. An easy card to make, any questions please ask away.

Non stop weekend

I am sat updating my blog, Friday and Saturday was non stop, we have emptied our bedroom for a new carpet to be laid and new bed and furniture coming this week (I hope). We began on Friday night and emptied those drawers (the ones that are supposed to be for clothes but are full of my crafting things!!). How many "just in case" things do we crafters hoard. I can't believe how much I have in drawers, I go mad with my daughter for her bedroom being full of junk but I really need to take a look in the drawers I have all over the house. Anyway decided to paint the bedroom walls whilst it was empty, which then led to the skirting boards, the door had to be adjusted. I change the bed, washed the curtains and eventually about six o clock last night the bedroom was back to being as normal as it can be, the clothes are in suitcases waiting the new wardrobes and my crafting things in boxes to be sorted this week. I done the rest of my cleaning last night so today I am going out for lunch and then it is my time to get up to date with me swaps etc. Hope you all have a happy crafting Sunday.

I have seen me going to the shop for a card because I have no just in case ones made. My OH looks at me as if I am mad and I go to the till and cringe when I have to pay for a card !! I set up this blog some time ago, used a layout which I got from the internet and found that it didn't work, struggled for night upon night to try to correct the problems, without success. In the end I decided forget it, is a blog really worth it!!! I am a member of a yahoo cardmaking group where everybody is fantastic and helpful, one of the members has just set up a blog for card makers who dare not jump in and create and asked if I would be a designer, I agreed and then got an email asking for a picture and an introduction to me, she also asked for my blog address arrrrgghhh. Well I have taken the plunge tonight, changed the template and here we are, now the hard work is keeping up with it. Keep visiting to view and hopefully I will get there soon.
